December 2011 - Russ with Mission Scuba joins Earth Resource Group Marine Division.
ERG has a long history of providing consulting, cleanup, and abatement services for environmentally hazardous materials for both private parties and government entities, and is now proving marine salvage services in Lake Mead and surounding areas. Marine Salvage Services include rescue towing, refloating a sunken or grounded vessel, emergency patching or repairing, etc. We are fully licensed, bonded, and insured, and possess a current Lake Mead Commercial Use Authorization (CUA) for marine salvage.
September 2011 - Congrats to Michael Lik, Tony Rosellie, and Tina Thompkins on their Open Water certifications.
May 2011 - We're proud to announce that Mission Scuba is now offering IANTD technical diver training along with our normal PADI recreational scuba classes. We were quite pleased to discover that IANTD really takes it to the next level in what they require for a scuba diver to earn a particular certification. This makes for a great match with our belief and practice that a diver must learn and earn their certification and not just "buy" it. Visit our Scuba Instruction and Classes page for more info and pricing.
March 2011 - Mission Scuba becomes Shearwater Research dealer.
We're happy to announce that Mission Scuba can now sell and support the popular Shearwater Predator technical dive computer.
February 2011 - Shearwater Research Predator review under way.
The good folks at Shearwater Research have sent us a Predator technical diving computer for us to take on some test dives and review. There are 4 of us right now that are eager to take it for a spin. We played with a Predator at this year's DEMA, and it looks amazing. Check our Product Reviews section for the rundown later this month.

December 20, 2010 - Mission Scuba will be feeding the homeless on Christmas morning.
It's all too easy to forget how lucky we all are sometimes to have our health, our jobs, and even a roof over our heads. Las Vegas homeless shelters fill up quickly, and women and children are the first to be admitted, which leaves many, many homeless men out on the street. A friend of ours told us how her family would prepare sack lunches on Christmas day and then pass them out to the homeless people downtown, and we decided it would be fantastic for our family to do the same. Our plan is between 50-75 lunches, prepared assembly-line style. PB&J, an apple or banana, a cookie, a drink, and maybe a few other goodies we can think of. It's not alot, but every little bit helps. Have a great new year!

November 2010 - Mission Scuba attends DEMA 2010 in Las Vegas. Lots of great new products to check out. We made some great contacts for scuba vacation destinations, training, and gear.
August 2010 - Congrats on Andrew & Courtney on their PADI Junior Advanced Open Water certs.
August 2010 - Mission Scuba's website undergoes a facelift. Enjoy the new format!
August 7, 2010 - Congrats to Trent on his PADI Open Water certification!
July 29, 2010 - Congrats to Lori & Tristan on their PADI Open Water certifications!
July 4, 2010 - Congrats to Kara & Steve on their PADI Open Water certifications!
Spring 2010 - Mission Scuba discovers that someone has vandalized the 75+ year old wooden ladder at the historic Low Level Water Treating Plant deep in Black Canyon near Hoover Dam. Much to our disappointment, we have no support from Brandon Murphy at the Las Vegas Divers Forum to discuss the matter publicly and possibly identify the culprit.
January 2010 - Congrats to Amy & Keith on completing their EFR First Aid/CPR course and PADI Rescue Diver Course.
November 27, 2009 - Not Scuba related, but all HP printer owners should read this article. You might be getting scammed by having to replace your ink or toner before you really have to. Hewlett Packard HP printer showing Cartridge Out or Ink Out before it really is.
September 2009 - Dept of Reclamation predicts 2010 water level in lake mead to be elevation 1105, which is 10 feet higher than it is now. With a heavy winter snowpack in the Rockies, the water level could potentially rise 45 feet (Elevation 1139) by September 2010
May 2009 - At 1099' elevation, Lake Mead water levels are at a 44 year low. Last time the water dropped below 1100' elevation was in 1965. Russ completed his PADI Divemaster training and started with PADI Instructor training.
March 2009 - The Narcosis suffers major mechanical problems are nearly becomes the latest wreck in Lake Mead. Special thanks to the Little Wahoo for a swift extraction of stranded personnel.
July 15, 2008 - Dept of Reclamation updates Lake Mead water level forecast. (Typically this is done monthly) - They estimate that Lake Mead's water elevation will remain at 1105' through the end of 2008 and into early 2009. This is based on snow pack in the Rockies and the elevation of water in Lake Powell behind Glen Canyon Dam.
July 10, 2008 - Presentation by Lake Mead Technical Divers at Scuba Views Dive Shop. This discussion will be about the B-29 Bomber that crashed sunk in the Overton Arm of Lake Mead back in the 1940s.
May 24, 2008 - NPS announces the two permit holders for the B-29 Bomber charters for 2008 & 2009. To book a charter to visit the B-29, visit www.lakemeadtechnicaldivers.com.
March 9th, 2008 - Mission Scuba rescues battered boat from bad man, and begins conversion into technical dive boat.
